Julian SCHMÜCKER

Julian Schmücker is the Senior Policy Adviser in the EBF Innovation & Cybersecurity Team. Being a lawyer focused on EU policy, he collected extensive work experience as a policy advisor in different industry associations, representing the financial sector. Starting in Berlin and moving to Brussels, he followed the digital transformation in banking, advancing his portfolio from traditional retail issues to digital topics. Today, his dossiers at the European Banking Federation include cloud computing, crypto-assets, CBDCs, BigTech and online platforms. Organizing the EBF Cloud Banking Forum – a policy hub for European banks, Cloud Service Providers and EU observers – he helps to shape and voice the positions of European banks on cloud.
